221 Within the contexts of the organization and the

profession, the salaries of the Pastoral Services

personnel are consistent with their education,

training and responsibilities.

LD.1.5 The leaders develop an annual operating budget and long-term capital expenditure plan, including a strategy to monitor the plan’s implementation.

LD.1.5.2 The budget review process considers the appropriateness of the hospital’s plan for providing care to meet patient needs.

*Note - JC standards do not address the salaries being consistent with the level of education, training, etc. This is left to the hospital to determine.

222 The budget provides availability of Pastoral Services

24 hours a day, seven days a week.

LD.1.3 The plan(s) include patient care services based on identified patient needs and is consistent with the hospital’s mission.

LD.1.3.3 Services are designed to respond to patient and family needs and expectations.

LD.1.3.4 The hospital provides services in a timely manner to meet patients’ needs.

RI.1.3 The hospital demonstrates respect for the following patient needs:

RI.1.3.5 pastoral care and other spiritual services.

*Note - JC standards do not require Pastoral Services to be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is left to the hospital to determine.
